We HEART Our Residents
It is no secret that we love our residents! Throughout the week of Valentine’s Day, our team members wanted to make them feel extra loved by hosting fun events for them to attend. These love themed activities gave residents the chance to unwind from the busy lives they lead, bond with the team and their neighbors, and have fun! Our team lives by the DLP Core Values and they definitely executed excellence and delivered WOW to all of those who took part in their events!
Our PROSPER Orange Beach community located in Orange Beach, Alabama braved the cold for their residents this Valentine’s Day. The average temperature in Orange Beach during the month of February is 65 degrees, according to the National Centers for Environmental Information. This year, the temperature was below 40 degrees, which is something that our team is certainly not used to. Rather than staying inside, they braved the cold, bundled up, and stood at the gate with their “breakfast to go” treats in their hand ready to make their residents day! General Manager, Debbie McGlaughlin had a blast getting to bond with the residents! “What’s great about having a resident function is not only the smiles on their faces, but the opportunity it gives the staff to reach out to them. Every staff member participated by handing out a breakfast bag and chatting with a resident. It was a great experience for residents and staff.” The bags they gave out to the residents included a breakfast bar, Pecan Pinwheel, juice box, chocolate kisses, and a halo orange. “ It did my heart good to put a smile on our residents faces!” expressed Shawn Johnson, Assistant Property Manager of PROSPER Orange Beach. Overall, the residents certainly felt the love and appreciation our team has for them this Valentine’s Day!
Over in Jackson, Mississippi, the PROSPER Jackson team had a Wine Down Wednesday event on February 13th! The leasing office became a relaxation oasis and residents who attended had the opportunity to enjoy refreshments, play games such as musical bingo, and win amazing prizes such as a Wine Thermoelectric Refrigerator, two $25 gift cards, one $100 gift card, three yeti mugs, two bluetooth speakers, a blanket, a water bottle, and a carrying bag! One of the biggest hits of the night was the PROSPER Jackson edition of “Last One Standing.” Last One Standing is a fun party game where attendees stand up and only sit down if the host says something that you are guilty of doing. The team started rounding off questions such as “sit down if you have ever parked in another residents parking spot” or “sit down if you have never paid your rent online.” The ones left standing were deemed the winners! Alita Smith, the General Manager of PROSPER Jackson, loved seeing the happiness beaming off everyone. “To prosper is to advance, do well or be fortunate. Seeing my residents have such a wonderful time at our community event, made me very happy and it caused me to challenge myself to do more for our residents, so that they will actually feel like PROSPER Jackson is a place where they are able to flourish, progress and are truly fortunate to live.” Residents had a blast and are looking forward to future events!
Our LIVE Marathon and LIVE Victory teams created a fun game to get residents actively involved in the Valentine’s Day fun! “’Where is the Love’ was our event planned for our residents to get out and look for the hidden hearts around the apartment communities for prizes. I decorated the paper hearts and hid them. They were each numbered for the prizes assigned to them!” explained Leasing Specialist, Ashley Sanchez. The prizes varied from a bag of candy to cooking utensils! The event was a huge success and residents are looking forward to searching for rainbows and the pot of gold in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day next month!
Residents at The Views On Longcreek in Columbia, South Carolina received adorable Valentine’s Day snacks to celebrate the day of love! With red and pink being the theme of the holiday, the team gave out sweet treats wrapped in pink! Not only that, but they were displayed on the table with a heart shaped balloon! Assistant Property Manager, Marquisha Booker, said “Valentines Day is a great way to show love especially at our community here at the Views on Longcreek! The children love the little snacks especially my 4 year old Ava!” Valentine’s Day is not just for showing love to significant others but family members as well which is exactly what The Views On Longcreek team did!
At PROSPER Azalea City in Valdosta, they celebrated Valentine’s Day with a pizza party! With the music playing, both the team and the residents showed off their moves! Emily Farmer, general manager of PROSPER Azalea City who dominated the running man, said “they entertained us with different dance moves throughout the night!” Around 20 residents were in attendance which gave the team had the chance to explain what DLP stands for and the future plans for the community. This event gave the residents a chance to come out for a delicious slice and meet the team!
These six communities and the many others who showered their residents with love this Valentine’s Day truly portrayed how much our residents mean to our team! Not only will they continue to make the residents feel special, but they certainly make the communities feel like home!
